Conversations About Art is a self-paced course, available at any time when you sign up, exploring how to use famous paintings to open up conversations with other people about wellbeing, mental health and life issues.

The course is divided into 6 units:

*Portrait
*Still Life
*Landscape
*Abstract
*Narrative
The introductory unit covers how famous paintings might be used, some different possible approaches, and likely benefits.
Each of the main units takes as its theme a different art genre, exploring that genre’s relevance to wellbeing and mental health; an overview of a range of paintings to consider, and how; questions for reflection; two paintings to discuss in more depth.
The course is aimed at:

What are the learning outcomes?
You should gain a variety of flexible ideas and questions to use or adapt in thinking and talking about specific paintings and art in general.
You will explore how to use famous paintings from different eras and movements to boost mental health and wellbeing.
You will consider how different genres can relate to wellbeing.
You will add another approach to your outreach or engagement.
